| Pastor John J. Owens graduated in 1994 from Jackson College of Ministries in Jackson, Mississippi. He, then, spent a three month internship at Parchman Correctional Institution as a Chaplain Intern. From there he spent six months as an Interim Pastor in Douglasvile, Georgia. In May of 1995, Pastor Owens came to Providence. He became the Associate Pastor in October of 1995 until March of 2003, when he took over the pastorate from Rev. Joseph Dinwiddie. The church is growing spiritually, numerically, and physically with a new expansion underway. We also have a Sunday School extension in Woonsocket, RI. |
