Bishop Thomas Edison Payne was born the seventh child to
Deacon Norman and Mother Ella Dade Payne. He was educated in the
Camden New Jersey Public Schools. He attended Camden County
College and Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa. He received a
Doctor of Divinity from Grace Bible College in Columbus, Ohio.
He was appointed Director of Aenon Bible College Philadelphia
and also served as a Chaplain at Rutgers University in Camden, New
Jersey and the Intercollegiate Pentecostal Conference International,
Washington, D.C.

He is married to Sister Betty Salley Payne. They currently reside in
Camden, New Jersey. They have two adopted daughters, Sister Crystal
Williams and Sister Sharon Jackson. Two godsons Elder Kyle Outen
and Bro. Jonathan Bordley, two goddaughters Sister Deidra Kee and
Brittany Williams

At the age of four, Bishop Payne began his work for the Lord by singing
at Chestnut Street U.A.M.E. Church, invited by Rev. Flossie Webb who
was Assistant Pastor and a friend of his mother and Wesley A.M.E Zion
Church in Camden invited by a neighbor. At six he was converted and
Joined the Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of
Rev. Henderson Adams and was baptized at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.
Approximately two years later at the age of eight years old, he received
the gift of the Holy Ghost speaking in tongues as the Spirit gave utterance
at the First Born Church of the Living God in Camden.

From his early youth, Bishop Payne had a desire to serve the Lord and
Comply with the Word of God. At eleven years old he was baptized
in Jesus Name at the Morning Star Church by Elder Toney and became
a member of the Mount Carmel Holy Church of The Lord Jesus under
the leadership of Elder R. T. Ralph. In Mount Carmel he served faithfully
as Sunday School secretary, musician, ushers, secretary to the deacon board,
and many clubs. He later became National Evangelist, General Secretary,
and president of the Executive Board for the national organization.

Bishop Payne initially began his preaching ministry at 19 years old.
He preached his trial sermon in Camden, New Jersey on Thursday
and on Sunday preached his first revival In White Oak, North Carolina.
Elder Ralph was traveling to North Carolina every third Sunday and
after a few months appointed Elder Payne to take his place. After a few
months Elizabethtown, North Carolina Joined Mt. Carmel through
Elder Thomas Payne Since then he has evangelized, preached and
baptized many souls across the United States, Jamaica, Haiti, Japan,
Hong Kong, China, Greenland and others.

Bishop Payne joined the Original Glorious Church of God in Christ
of the Apostolic Faith, Under Bishop I,W. Hamiter and served as
Pastor, District Elder, Assistant Director of Foreign Missions and other
assignments.

Bishop Payne then joined Shiloh Apostolic Temple under Bishop
Robert 0. Doub Jr., and served as Pastor of Camden N.J. and
Durham, North Carolina and was District Elder and Overseer of
North and South Carolina. He served as Pastor of Camden and
District Elder under Bishop Michael S. Doub Sr. On Sunday,
August 29. 2004 he was consecrated Bishop at the Shiloh Apostolic
Temple, 1500-38 West Master Street, Philadelphia, Pa. By
Bishop Michael Doub, Bishop Curtis Bordley and other Bishops,

In addition to his organization offices Bishop Payne also served for many
years as Secretary of the Apostolic Ministers Conference and the
International Youth Director of the Apostolic World Christian Fellowship
He is the Secretary for the Ministers Alliance of Camden and Vicinity.
He has a 'FCC Radio Operator's permit

Bishop Payne realizing that the work of the Lord was also outside of the
